Mom and Dad were married in August of 1950 in Wichita Falls, Texas.  Dad had earlier been transferred from Keesler AFB in Biloxi to Shepherd AFB.  Grandma could not attend the wedding, but Aunt Elaine (Bilski) accompanied Mom to Texas.  Just prior to the wedding, Dad needed his mother’s permission to get married since he was not yet 21.  Mom had just turned 20 the previous month.
